Archaeological Finds
The archaeological finds of the municipality are scattered. Some of them are at the Archaeological Museum of Komotini and others were investigated by the Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities in Kavala, such as the Enalia of the marine region of Mesi. Within the limits of the municipality Aigeirou there are two important archaeological sites, Ancient Strimi, site of the ancient city and the ancient city Dikaia Par Abdira. Excavations in the ancient Strimi were made with money from the 1st and 2nd ΚΠΣ (~ 18 million and 13 million drachmas respectively) by the ΙΘ. Eforate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities (ΕΠΚΑ). Finally there is the archaeological site southeast of town Egiros precisely on the limits of the municipality of Komotini (in the village of Paradimis).
