Municipality of Egiros
The Municipality of Egiros has a total of 11 picturesque villages, Porpi, Mesi, Mesi Beach, New and Old Kallisti, Messouni, Meleti, Egiros, Arogi, Fanari and Glyfada, most of which were founded after 1923 by Christian refugees that came from eastern Thrace and Romilia. But there are some pre-1923 settlements inhabited mostly by Muslims. Seat of the municipality is Egiros. The total population of the municipality during the 2001 census was 4,418 residents.
